Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, directors and people with significant control must verify their identity at Companies House. Verification can be done directly, or through an Authorised Corporate Service Provider — an ACSP — which is typically an accountancy or law firm authorised to carry out the check. The register records the outcome per officer, and often the ACSP that did it. That is a due-diligence signal, and for firms acting as ACSPs it is also a record of their own work.

What is an ACSP?

An Authorised Corporate Service Provider — a firm registered with Companies House to carry out identity verification on its behalf. In practice these are usually accountancy practices, law firms and company formation agents.

Can I see which ACSP verified a director?

Where the register records it, yes. Verivello shows the verifying firm alongside the verification date, for example “Verified 16 July 2025 via DE PINNA LLP ACSP”.

What does “not on record” mean?

Companies House is not currently showing a completed identity verification for that officer. Verification is a rolling requirement, so there can be innocent reasons including timing. Treat it as a question to ask, not a conclusion to draw.
